VinoCache

Remember when Scavenger Hunts were all the rage? Now adult treasure hunters have created the Geocache Craze. Treasure seekers utilize GPS devices to find tokens marked only by latitude and longitude. We’ve taken this a step further, involving 10 Prosser wineries as partners in our VinoCache adventure. Teams of four will meet at 10AM on May 1, 2010 for orientation. We will review the etiquette and rules of the VinoCache. Each team will be provided with a “Day Pack”, filled with essential travel items. The teams will visit wineries, vineyards, Farmers Market, historical sites and points of interest while using their GPS and our coordinates. The Goal: To collect the medallions and treasure found at each site and return to the HoBO Jungle to celebrate the days adventure, share stories with fellow teams and enjoy a traditional meal together.

Hobo History

Hobos were workers who wandered calling no place home they lived each day to the fullest. They developed their own music, language and universal written symbols. Hobos “marked” Prosser as a great stopover to enjoy the bounty of work and food. A sort of gathering place to trade stories of travel and adventure. They made their camp “HoBO Jungle” down by the Yakima River near the future site of the Walter Clore Center.

HoBO Today

~Hospice Booster Organization~

Heartlinks Kids~ a program extension of Lower Valley Hospice provides care for children with life limiting or terminal medical conditions. We provide hospital-to-home nursing care, social worker support and chaplains as requested. We help parents learn to care for their child at home and keep families together. This helps them live each precious day to the fullest, just as the original hobos did.
