There’s something extra fun about drinking wine at harvest time. The air feels a little more alive, the barrels feel a little more exciting, and yes, stomping grapes with your friends sounds exactly as ridiculous and memorable as it should.
The 16th Annual Catch the Crush Harvest Party and Grape Stomp Event is happening Saturday, October 10 at Coyote Canyon Winery, and it’s built around the best parts of harvest season: wine tasting, barrel sampling, live music, food, dancing, and a grape stomp competition that’s ready for costumes, cheering, and plenty of laughs.
This is a 21+ only event, so plan for an adults-only afternoon.
What to expect at the harvest party
You’ll get to enjoy wine sampling straight from the barrels, which is always a treat. Barrel samples give a peek at wine while it’s still becoming itself. The flavors can feel fresh, bold, or surprising in a way that’s different from a finished bottle. If you like seeing what happens behind the scenes at a winery, this is one of the easiest and most enjoyable ways to do it.
There will also be award-winning wine samples, so come ready to taste, compare, and find something you’ll want to remember later.
Live music by Cale Moon will set the mood for the afternoon, and there’ll be plenty of space for dancing if the music gets you moving. Add in the food trucks, the grape stomp, and the buzz of harvest season, and you’ve got the kind of winery day that turns into a story before it’s even over.
The grape stomp is the main event for a reason
The annual Grape Stomp Competition brings out the playful side of harvest. Here’s the basic idea: gather a three-person team, get ready to step into the barrel, and stomp grapes for three minutes. The team that collects the most juice has a shot at winning prizes.
There’s also a costume contest! Costumes aren’t required, but they are fun! Think harvest royalty, matching vineyard outfits, goofy grape-themed costumes, or anything else that’ll make people smile. The best costumes can win prizes, too.
A few tips if you’re putting together a team:
Pick teammates who don’t mind getting messy.
Wear something comfortable enough to move in.
If you’re dressing up, keep it stomp-friendly.
Bring a cheering section if you can.
Don’t overthink it. The point is to have fun.
The Grape Stomp Entry is $20 per person, and that includes the $10 Harvest Party Entry Fee. If you’re entering the stomp, you don’t need a separate general entry ticket.
Food, music, and a full afternoon at the winery
Good wine needs good food nearby, and this year’s harvest party has that covered. Cascade Wood Fired Pizza will be serving up the kind of food that makes winery afternoons even better: warm, shareable, satisfying, and easy to enjoy between tastings.
For something sweet, Rollin Ice Cream will be there too. That’s a pretty perfect harvest party combo, especially when October still has a bit of sunshine hanging around.
Between bites, tastings, and barrel samples, you can settle in for music by Cale Moon. The live music and dancing are a big part of what makes this event feel like a celebration.

Ticket details to know before you go
There are two ticket options, so it’s worth picking the right one before you buy.
Ticket | Price | What it includes |
Harvest Party Entry Fee | $10 per person | Entry to the harvest party |
Grape Stomp Entry | $20 per person | Grape stomp entry plus the $10 Harvest Party Entry Fee |
The key thing to remember is that the Harvest Party Entry Fee ticket is for entry only. If you want to join the grape stomp competition, choose the Grape Stomp Entry instead.
The event is open to guests 21 and older only. Bring valid ID, plan your transportation, and give yourself enough time to enjoy the afternoon without rushing. Harvest events are best when you can wander a little, taste a little, listen to the music, and cheer on the stomp teams.
Feel free to bring your own wine glass! We will also have them available for purchase.

Make it a harvest day to remember
If you’re looking for a winery event that feels festive without being fussy, this is the one to put on the calendar. Come for the wine samples, stay for the barrel tasting, grab pizza and ice cream, dance a little, and maybe pull together a three-person stomp team that’s ready to win.
